Workshop for Civil Servants and Civil Society Representatives in Russia

The workshop in Moscow was organized in Foresta Tropicana Hotel which has all possibilities for the events of this kind. The total number of participants was 31 people’s incl. experts from Russia and EU, participants from regions and administrative staff. Indem Foundation has invited 16 participants from different regions which differ from each other by social and economic situation. Seven of them have borders with the countries which are involved in the BRIDGE Project such as Ukraine and Belarus, therefore the problems in these regions can be the same as in the neighbored countries. Programme of the workshop ( English Russian).

The participants discussed the different problems related to the program. They were very interested in the methods of solving of the related problems in the EU. The most interesting topics for all Russian regions representatives were migration, visa regime, the situation with cooperation between NGOs and the government, possibility of creation of inter-region network, border transparency, the problem of integration of immigrants, demographic and gender policy. And participants would like to know how these problems were solved or in which stage of solving they are in the EU countries.

Participants have adopted the Statement on the improvement of cooperation of civil society with the government of the Russian Federation and with EU agencies (English, Russian).

The reports were of great interest for all participants who actively took part in the follow-up discussions. The program consisted of 7 reports and followed up by 7 discussions. One of the important things to work out in the future is to spread knowledge about ENP policy and create a network of organizations in all participated countries which can work together in the future after finishing the project and share experience.
