Round Table on the EU-partner countries cooperation with the EU in education, culture and science

Aims of the Round Table were: 1) to explore ways and means for improving the EU-partner country co-operation in the fields of education, culture and science and 2) to elaborate proposals and recommendations to the competent EU bodies and governmental agencies in partner countries on future development of this cooperation.

In order to realise action objectives several preliminary studies/surveys were elaborated and presented on the Round Table:
•    Survey - from the point of EU - of the EU - ENP / EP countries and Russia cooperation programmes in the fields of education with emphasis on regional and multi-country programmes (prepared by Mr. Stefan Dukiandjiev)  
•    Five surveys of the current EU-Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and Russia co-operation in the field of education, culture and science (Prepared by experts from Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and Russia).
•    Four surveys of educational programmes (under-graduated studies, Master and Doctorate programmes and the similar) related to the EU integration and policies issues, and especially to the ENP / EP and Strategic partnership with Russia, which have been or are in the process of realisation at selected sample of universities in Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, and Russia (Prepared by experts from Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and Russia).
Round Table was held on was 18 – 21 February 2010 in Chisinau (Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Centre for Studies in European Integration) Moldova and organised by ASER and ASEM-Centre for European Integration Studies from Chisinau under guidance of BRIDGE Coordinator and in cooperation with the University of Trieste, University Babeş-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, Viadrina University Frankfurt/O., University of Maribor and ISCOMET Institute.

Participants of the Round Table have adopted Concluding Statement ( English, Russian) supporting the EU-partner countries cooperation with the EU in education, culture and science and calling EU and Partner countries governments to deepen the cooperation by strengthening of the implementation of Bologna principles, strengthening the mobility of ideas and people inside common European space and by placing the universities in the center of the Golden triangle,  »Learning, Research and Innovation«  in order to accomplish their mission in serving the society and acting as a driving force for overall social – economic development of the countries.
