AIMS OF THE WORKSHOPS FOR ACADEMICS

The aims of the workshops were: 1) to improve the knowledge of participants on the EU integration processes and policies, and in particular on the European Neighbourhood Policy (Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine) and Strategic Partnership with Russia as well as so far realised cooperation; 2) to improve understanding and raising awareness of participants on the European Neighbourhood Policy and Strategic Partnership on the topics of the BRIDGE agenda respectively; 3) to develop proposals for the inclusion of the workshops topics in universities courses and research projects, and finally 4) to bring together experts who might be speakers and coordinators of future BRIDGE actions in the given region.
In addition to these general aims workshops in individual states have their own specific objectives as different issues and open questions were presented and discussed.

Workshops were organised by local Project Partners in consultations with other Project Partners under the guidance of the ISCOMET Institute.

PARTICIPANTS

The workshops were attended by university professors, young lectures (from departments of international relations, European integration and similar departments), experts and university administrative staff interested in the Projects` issues. Each workshop has gathered more then 30 participants; the final number of participants at each Workshop depended on the circumstances and needs in each location. The participants are supposed: a) to spread their acquired knowledge to their colleagues and especially to students and other people for whom they are lecturing; b) to be promoters of elaborating new curricula and courses programmes on the BRIDGE topics at their respective institution, and c) to be speakers and trainers at further BRIDGE activities in (2009-2012).
Speakers at the workshops were experts from EU Project Partner Institutions and invited national experts.
Working languages ware relevant local languages with English simultaneous translation.
